My vet is the best because they genuinely care about my animals. They always do what is best for the animal and they take their time listening and addressing any and all concerns. They always try the least invasive things first and offer the best preventive measures possible. They take their time to educate me and give me resources as to where I can learn more. Dr. Welch is an internal medicine vet who has a special interest in cancer. When our heart dog, Tucker, was 12 he developed an osteosarcoma. His hind leg was amputated by a surgical specialist vet at the same practice. Dr. Welsh arranged for the tumor to be sent to a site where a vaccine was derived to induce an immune response to Tucker's cancer. Tucker lived for another 16 months but developed kidney failure and we had to say goodbye. He was 14 years old by then. During Tucker's 16 month course of illness Dr. Welch was always available by phone or email to advise us. We had lots of questions because we are both retired internists.
